Duplex angular contact bearings are a matched set of angular contact bearings mounted in pairs. Depending on theduplex type, they can handle combined radial and axial loads in either one or two directions. The inner and outerring raceways are offset to each other, resulting in a shoulder on the inner raceway rings. This asymmetrical internaldesign works well with contact angles between 15 and 40 degrees. Duplex angular contact bearings with largercontact angles are ideal for higher axial loads and lower radial loads. Certain duplex angular contact bearings aredesigned to withstand even larger angles. Depending on the application, the relative proportions of the inner andouter races should match the desired contact angle.Duplex bearings are a pair of angular contact RBC Thin Section Ball Bearings specially ground for use as a matched set. A duplexed pair can be used to provide accurate shaft location, to increase capacity or to increase stiffness of the bearing assembly. A duplex pair of RBC Thin Section Ball Bearings is ground so that when mounted using recommended fits, there will be no internal clearance in the bearings.
